How it works
How to take part in the race
You will need a team of 4 people to compete in the race, this could be friends, family, work colleagues or a mix.
Once you have completed the team registration form and paid your registration fee, you will receive a confirmation email from us including a Pudding Information Pack. The pack includes a link to our dedicated Cancer Research Fundraising page with information on how to set up your very own team page and start your fundraising.
To take advantage of our Early Pud Registration Discount – don’t forget to register your team before midnight on Sunday 23rd October 2022.
Fundraising
We ask each team to raise a minimum of £800 (£200 per person) to help support the vital work of Cancer Research UK.
There are many ways to raise money through fundraising and sponsorship activities. You could organise a coffee morning, put on a quiz night, hold a bake sale at work, or pack bags at your local supermarket for donations.
Many companies offer corporate matching which is a great way to increase your fundraising total. Why not ask and see if this is something that your company offers?
Fancy dress
To help everyone get into the Christmas spirit, we ask our teams to come in fancy dress!
Over the years we have seen some amazing costumes from a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings to superheroes and even the cast of Toy Story. The more creative the better – and don’t forget there is a prize for the team with the best fancy dress outfit.

On the event day
Your team will arrive at approx. 10am on the day to check in and will then be taken around the event course where the obstacles will be explained.
Between the races there will be festive entertainment and our infamous Zumba warm up to get everyone ready to race!
Friends and family are welcome to come and cheer you on, enjoy the live entertainment between races and festive atmosphere of Covent Garden.
The event will end at approx. 1pm.
The race
We would describe the event as a fun run so you don’t need to be a seasoned runner!
Teams race around a fun filled obstacle course, whilst carefully balancing a Christmas Pudding on a tray. Obstacles include inflatables, a crazy foam slalom, decorating a Christmas Tree, dress the snowman and many other fun and festive challenges.
The winning team and runners up from each heat will then battle it out in the Grand Final to determine who will be awarded the acclaimed title of The Winner of The Great Christmas Pudding Race!
In summary, if you are looking to mark the start of the Festive Season with a one-of-a-kind fun run event and raise money for a brilliant cause which is close to many of our hearts – then The Great Christmas Pudding Race is the event for you!
